Job Posting: Jewish literature, media

The Cornell departments of Comparative Literature and English, in collaboration with the Jewish Studies Program, seek a Visiting Assistant Professor working in Jewish literature and/or media in any language or languages other than Hebrew or Arabic. The successful candidate will be housed either in Comparative Literature or in English, depending on area of specialization, and will be actively engaged with the Jewish Studies program. The appointment is for two years, and the teaching load is two courses per semester.

We favor research based on innovative methodologies, materials, and frameworks. Intersections with fields such as Anthropology, History, Government, and Near Eastern studies are welcome.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the vibrant intellectual life of Cornell University. The Ph.D. or equivalent degree is required by the appointment start date of July 1, 2020.
